Chinese insurers are stepping up efforts to offer support to their covered victims of the air crash on Monday.

The Civil Aviation Administration of China confirmed yesterday a Boeing 737 passenger plane with 132 aboard crashed in China's Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region.

The country's leading insurers, such as Ping An, People's Insurance Co of China Ltd,China Pacific Life Insurance Co Ltd and New China Life Insurance Co Ltd, all set up green channels and around-the-clock service for relevant claims.

Ping An Insurance, for instance, has received four claims about the accident as of Monday night, and the company has been verifying information. It has launched a psychological counseling program for family members of passengers on the flight.

PICC, which serves as chief underwriter of the crashed plane, said in a statement on Monday evening it has started its emergency response for major accident claims and established a special working group. Related employees of PICC have arrived in Guangxi to deal with the follow-up work.

CPIC, another insurer of the flight, said it has started an internal verification process about airframe insurance, group accident insurance, flight accident insurance and other types of insurance with Yunnan institutions.
