Wang said the problem of electric vehicles catching fire in the past years caused by thermal runaway has restricted the development of the new energy vehicle industry. Wang suggested that the Chinese government make national plans to promote the application of power battery thermal runaway protection technology and make it a prerequisite for NEVs to be sold. Wang also suggested empowering NEVs on the road with the thermal runaway protection technology to ensure that all NEV models in the market are qualified and safe.
