There is only one China in the world, and Taiwan is part of China. That's a fact and a principle followed by 180 countries of this world, of which the US is one.

That's why US Secretary of State Antony Blinken's recent words about "taking action" to "help Taiwan defend itself" are absurd. Taiwan, as a part of China, will only be defended by Chinese forces, and there will never be a time for the US to "defend" Taiwan.

Before China and the US established diplomatic relations, there were US troops stationed in Taiwan to "defend" it. According to a document from the local police in Taiwan in 1966, US troops there committed between 2,000 and 2,500 crimes every year, victimizing the people.

More absurd was Blinken's claim the US will "preserve peace and stability in that part of the world". The fact is his state poses the biggest challenge to peace in the Taiwan Straits. Seven decades ago, it was the US fleet that prevented China's reunification. Since then, it was the US that used Taiwan as a vassal despite pushing it to the brink of war several times. Now it still dreams of keeping its influence over a piece of Chinese territory.

China must be and will be reunified, it is inevitable. Neither Blinken nor any Western politican will be able to prevent it.
