TEHRAN - Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Monday said the country is opposed to politicizing the origins-tracing of COVID-19.

Talking to reporters at a press conference, Saeed Khatibzadeh, spokesman for the ministry, said that it is unfortunate that the United States and some Western countries are politicizing the virus.

"The worst thing about the coronavirus is to politicize its origins and its various dimensions," Khatibzadeh said.

The spokesman urged those Western countries to stop politically-motivated practices and act responsibly to make sure that everyone in the world has equal access to COVID-19 vaccines and help the world deal with the disease.
