Former deputy head of regional govt arrested
Ren Hua, a former vice-chairwoman of the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region government, has been arrested on suspicion of taking bribes, an official statement released on Wednesday said. The case of Ren, also a former member of the regional government's leading Party members group, was transferred to the procuratorial authorities for investigation and prosecution after an investigation by the Communist Party of China Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Supervisory Commission.

Online platform for financial disputes
The first integrated online platform to help resolve the growing number of financial disputes in Beijing was launched on Tuesday. The platform was jointly developed by the Beijing High People's Court, the Beijing operations office of the People's Bank of China and the China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission's Beijing office. Using the platform, litigants can enjoy multiple legal services, including evidence filing, mediation, litigation and document delivery, the high court said in a statement.

10 HK people charged over border crossing
Yantian People's Procuratorate in Shenzhen, Guangdong province, initiated public prosecutions on Wednesday against eight Hong Kong residents who allegedly crossed the border between Hong Kong and the Chinese mainland illegally in a speedboat in August during an attempt to flee to Taiwan. Two other suspects, surnamed Tang and Quinn, were charged with the more serious offense of organizing others to illegally cross the border.
