A tourism promotion created by the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region using the slogan "Xinjiang is a good place" was ranked No 1 in a recent list from the fields of government affairs, culture and tourism. The ranking was based on search results from Baidu.

The list measures performance based on indicators such as an account's influence, activeness and interaction, Baidu said.

In June, the official account for tourism in Xinjiang topped the list with a composite index of 911.84 points.

The official account uses online live broadcasts, short videos and other technologies to promote the integration of new and mainstream media from cultural and tourism aspects.

Recently, an official account carried out an activity called "Mark your time in Xinjiang", in which people can record the amount of time spent in the region by producing visuals — photos and videos — via mobile phones. The activity went viral on the internet.
