China Media Group held an event on Sunday announcing its picks of top Chinese brands, a move it said will help increase Chinese brands' presence and boost their high-quality development.

During the event, it announced its picks for the top 100 exemplar brands, top 10 exemplar brands of the year, top 10 cutting-edge brands of the year, and the most honorable brand of the year.

Famous brands, such as China Mobile, China Aerospace, CRRC, Alibaba and Tencent, were announced among the top 100 brands.

Its picks of the 10 most cutting-edge brands in 2019 included drone maker DJI Technology, short video-sharing platform TikTok and e-commerce platforms Pinduoduo and JD.

Huawei was crowned the most honorable brand of the year, due to its pursuit of technological innovation, and worldwide leadership in 5G development.
