Mounting demand for digital education in Belt and Road economies is opening the door for NetDragon Websoft Inc, a Chinese game and education service provider, to target opportunities in the overseas market, according to its CEO.

Xiong Li, CEO of NetDragon, said the company has expanded its businesses into over 20 countries and regions involved in the Belt and Road Initiative, including Russia, Egypt, Nigeria and Malaysia.

"We have seen higher-than-expected passion from BRI economies, including some underdeveloped regions, in promoting high-quality online education," Xiong said.

His words came right after that the Fuzhou, Fujian province-based firm, met with top education official of Tanzania in Beijing to explore future cooperation potential in the South African country.

Tanzania is looking forward to cooperate with NetDragon in the digitalization of local education to bring more shared benefits, said Mbelwa Kairuki, Tanzania's ambassador to China.

Kairuki said he is particularly interested in the company's pop-up classroom and hopes that the advanced mode can be in trial in the country as soon as possible.

Pop-up classroom is a container-like smart classroom that can be easily fabricated and transported. Embedded with NetDragon's flagship smart products and solutions, the classroom will also offer students latest educational resources.

"The pop-up classroom has great potential abroad, especially in underdeveloped countries, as local governments can improve educational equity with limited educational budget," Xiong said.
