Film on famous cash robbery set for 2020 release

According to the producers, the film is based on the real-life story of how seven robbers armed with guns robbed around 15 million yuan ($2.2 million) from a vehicle in Fanyu, in Guangdong province, on Dec 22, 1995.
The criminals also caused the death of a security guard on the van. Five of the suspects were arrested shortly after the robbery, but two remained free for around 12 years. One voluntarily surrendered himself to the Chinese police in 2016 and the last one was captured in early January 2017.
