A high-tech company, BCAR has registered 167 national patents related to its air rail system, as well as 72 exclusive technologies. The company has developed the system with full intellectual property rights appropriate for the domestic market.

In tests conducted in Kaifeng, air rail cars registered speeds as high as 80 kilometers per hour, far exceeding the projected 50 kilometers per hour, and when fully constructed and equipped, air rail will be able to carry 10,000 tourists per, Wang said.

In the case of accidents, emergency inflatable slides will automatically extend from both sides of the cars, which will help passengers reach the ground safely, according to the report.

Air rail is expected to serve medium-sized cities in the future and help alleviate the burden on subways and urban railways in larger metropolises.
