Construction of the cross-sea bridge, scheduled for completion at the end of 2018, will cut the trip from Wenchang City to Haikou City from 90 minutes to about 20 minutes. Spanning a geological fault line, it’s being built to the highest standard of earthquake resistance at an investment of 3.01 billion yuan ($440 million).
