KUNMING - The 16th ASEAN Overseas Chinese Entrepreneurs Conference will be held in Kunming, capital of Southwest China's Yunnan province from June 12 to 15 with the theme "New Era, New Opportunity, New Journey and New Development."

More than 600 overseas Chinese businessmen from over 40 countries and regions including Japan, Russia, Singapore and the United States will attend the event.

Since the conference was first held in 2003, it has attracted more than 3,000 enterprises and 5,000 overseas Chinese entrepreneurs, with actual investment of more than $5 billion, according to the Yunnan overseas Chinese affairs office.

By the end of 2017, there were 1,084 overseas Chinese-funded enterprises in Yunnan with fixed assets of 65 billion yuan ($10 billion).
