NEW YORK - A security guard was killed and a worker was hurt when a large panel of glass fell at a construction site in New York City on Saturday.

The accident happened around 10:30 am at the construction site on West 57th Street near Central Park, police said.

Preliminary investigation revealed the glass panel was being moved when it fell and crushed the 67-year-old, who was working as as a security guard at the location.

A 27-year-old construction worker was also hurt. His injuries are believed to be non-life threatening.

NYC building inspectors are investigating the cause of the accident.
