A proposal to improve teenage sex education will be submitted to the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference national committee held March 3 in Beijing.

The proposal was completed after months of research by five students from Harbin No 3 Middle School: Fang Yuanyuan, Fan Chunqi, Xu Zekai, Gu Yining and Sun Huidong.

The proposal called on the Ministry of Education and local governments to improve the  teenage sex education system, including promoting pilot projects, choosing pilot regions and approving drafts of pilot plans.

The team spent weeks on research about sexual knowledge through the internet and received 700 valid questionnaires, which provided them with rich data.

Furthermore, they also did a series of practical research.

Then they finished a research report, which became an important basis for the proposal.

The proposal attempts to promote teenage sex education into a real practice in schools around the country.

The proposal was chosen at a national simulated CPPCC conference for teenagers in Harbin.

Every year, the best proposal from each delegation is submitted to the CPPCC national committee.

Last year, six students from the school received high praise for their proposal to improve the pension service from the Ministry of Civil Affairs.

Their proposal called on local governments to provide specialized household management services and daily life care for senior citizens.
