Another KO keeps Brook perfect

Britain's Kell Brook said he wants to fight rival world champion Danny Garcia after an easy defense of his International Boxing Federation welterweight title against Canada's Kevin Bizier on Saturday.

In front of his home crowd in Sheffield, Brook extended his perfect record to 36-0 by stopping Bizier at 2:15 of the second round.

It was the IBF titleholder's 25th KO.

The speed with which Brook stopped his game, if outclassed, opponent is sure to raise questions about how the IBF managed to select Bizier as a mandatory challenger.

"I have been training a long, long time. I wanted to warm up into it and have a war, but he couldn't stand up to it," Brook told Sky Sports.

"I want the big fights. I have my mandatory out of the way. I have power that can knock heavyweights out. That is what we have to do now - make a big fight."

Brook, 29, has yet to have a career-defining test against a major name such as Garcia, the American who holds the World Boxing Council crown.

"I want Garcia now," he said. "Or Manny Pacquiao, or Timothy Bradley."

This was Brook's first fight since last May, when he sustained a broken rib in a win over Frankie Gavin.

Brook stunned Shawn Porter of the US to win the title in August 2014, but was out of action for more than a year following injuries sustained in a stabbing incident.

Bizier entered the ring having won 25 of his 27 professional bouts but, significantly, his record included two losses to Romania's Jo Jo Dan, both via split decisions, in 2013 and 2014.

Brook cruised to a 10-round victory over Dan late last year.

From the opening bell the Canadian demonstrated an alarming lack of head movement, with Brook landing several solid punches and opening a cut above Bizier's right eye.

By the early stages of the second round, blood was pouring from Bizier's nose. Brook rocked him with a powerful head shot, then sent the 31-year-old crashing to the canvas with a flurry of punches.

Bizier, never previously stopped as a pro, regained his feet, only for Brook to floor him again with a five-punch flurry moments later.

Midway through the second count, referee Marcus McDonnell waved an end to the action after determining Bizier was in no condition to continue.
